Race to Robie Creek

Kelly and I had a great time running this year's pirate themed race. Okay, so it wasn't great the whole time, it was after all the "toughest 1/2 in the northwest". There were the steep uphill sections where we cursed ourselves for signing up and the steep downhill where we knew either our knees were going to give, we may face plant it, or we counted the seconds before those calves siezed up. It's just one of those things we can love to hate.(I guess) Anyhow, it was fun. The weather turned out just about perfect (we worried all week about rain). We were happy with our times, both of us shaved close to 20 minutes off our last Robie races.

chillin' before the start.

Moments we love

Watching Ethan and Ellie laugh and play together.

Grandma and Grandpa brought the kids to watch the start of Robie. When Kelly and I ran by everyone we slowed down to say hi and maybe get a picture but all we heard from Ethan (our competitive little guy)was "JUST GO!!!!!!!" Duh, we were racing and didn't have time to slow down and say hi. It was pretty funny to hear his anxious voice yelling at us.

Ellie talking up a storm when one of us is putting her to bed. We always rock her a few minutes and she will jibber jabber about EVERYTHING. Not sure if she really wants to share all she does with us or if it's her way to stall the inevitable. Either way it's one of our FAVORITE things.

Ethan watches reality TV with us (Survivor, Amazing Race, and Biggest Loser). While driving through Tremonton he spotted the Bear River initials on the hillside . . . ."Look, B R for Boston Rob!".

Ellie is still obsessed with my hair. Seems even more lately. I constantly hear: "Mommy, let me touch your hair."

The other day we were in a sporting goods store playing with the hula hoops. Later, back at Grandma's, Ellie discovered a hula hoop and insisted on having the "Fruit Loop"

Ellie singing the Barney song "I love you, you love me . . . ." She doesn't just sing it. Whomever she is close to at the time will have her arm around them and get "a great big hug" and a "kiss from" her to them.

The other day. Ellie: "Slug bug; TACO!" it took several minutes to figure out she was saying, "slug bug; CHARCOAL".

Science Fair 2011

Ethan's project: Bubble Competition.
Purpose - Find out what makes bubbles last longest. Hypothesis - The bubbles with vinegar will last longest because of the bubbly top after mixing. Conclusion - Bubbles with glycerin last longer than bubbles made with lemon, vinegar, or just soap and water.

Ethan LOVES his prize for the Science Fair. It included several science experiment tools. He immediately took his science tools downstairs to set up his laboratory.
