Celebrate LOVE day!

For Valentine's day our family ventured out to the local Japanese Steakhouse.

At first Ellie was impressed with the chef at a table near us.  She was giggling and excited about watching the "cookers".  However, after a while she got the idea in her head that it was going to be too loud.

When It was time for our food to be prepared Ethan was extremely impressed!

Ellie on the other hand ended up on the floor under our table.  She did NOT like the flames and was not captivated by the cooking talents of our chef.

Both kids enjoyed the food.  Ethan demonstrated his "chopstick" skills as well as his talent for catching food in his mouth.  Just ask him and he'll tell you about how he caught 3 out of 5 pieces of chicken and that he did better than all of the adults at our table.  Most impressive was when he caught 2 out of 3 that were thrown at him at one time.  Both E's also decided that this is their new favorite restaurant.  (definitely, special occasion only).

Valentine's day is kind of silly since we should show our love toward our loved ones everyday.  But, it's still fun to have a reason to celebrate that love.

Winter PoTPouRRi

These two pictures were taken on the same day.

Happy to have enjoyed a nice, sunny run.

Since the first of the year Ellie has been "making valentines".  She finally got her chance to make the actual Valentines to give to her friends at school.  She crafted and wrote EVERY one of them.

I love it when I glance at the E's and see this!

 Cuteness

No inversion and 30 degrees means taking the run outdoors.

Another SUNNY, warm day

We thought this snowman had a resemblance to E.T.

Jr. Jazz 2013

Ethan is having a blast playing Jr. Jazz basketball.
We LOVE spending Saturday mornings watching him play.  He's quite the point guard helping to create some great plays and earning record assists.

His team:  The 76ers.

35 going on . . . .

. . . . .  27.8.  At least according to the "Real Age" test.  I like to take this test each year because it enforces my belief that my obsession with fitness is worth while.  One of the best birthday wishes I received on my birthday:  "Hey, Happy Birthday!  How old are you?" (I answer) the response "35???? YOU'RE THIRTY FIVE?" (yes, it was a loud, unbelieving voice) my facial reaction must have shown exactly what I was thinking . . .said wow, 35 IS old because the disbelief was followed by:  "I hope I look like you when I'm 35."

Birthdays are a great time to sit back and reflect on one's life.  As I reflect on mine I realize how incredibly fortunate I am.  I have two beautiful, healthy children who bring so much joy and love into my life.  I have an amazing husband who is kind, loving, supportive and I couldn't imagine life without.        I get to be a professional and use my education by working part time in a job I love while at the same time enjoy the perks of being home with my kids the rest of the time.  I'm in good health, maintain an active lifestyle, and am generally a happy person.  Cheers to birthday # 35!  (or 27.8)
