Braces!!

Ethan has lost all of his baby teeth and so the time came that he begin a little orthodontic work.  Fortunately for him, he does not have the crazy, messed up teeth his mom had but he does have a small over bite and a missing tooth that needs a little help.
We had a little fun taking pictures during his prep for getting his new teeth-wear.

Fittingly (no pun intended) he got braces about month before starting middle school.
Look at this handsome smile!

4th of July in Stanley

Since the 4th fell close to the weekend we were able to take off and head up to Stanley.  It's such a beautiful drive after you get out of the dry, barren southern Idaho landscape.

Taking time for a view at Galena Summit

We spend the long weekend at the Stanley house with Grandma, Grandpa, Great Grandpa and Grandma Larson and the Ramsey's.  It was such a nice time playing with cousins, visiting with grandparents, fishing, fireworks, the beautiful lakes and mountains and of course eating yummy food.

Time out for Fishing at the fish hatchery kids' pond along the Salmon River.

All the kids caught their fair share of fish.
Once she had one on the line, Ellie wasn't quite sure what to do.

Fishing with Cousin Cache made it even better.

Kelly and I were able to sneak out in the morning for a fun 4th of July trail run to Alpine Lake.  We've learned that the efficiency of trail running can turn what might normally be full day hike into a scenic two (plus some) hour run.

Great view along the trail.

Beautiful Sawtooth Mountains!

What a great morning for us to spend together.  So grateful for this beautiful place we have to visit.

Heading back down the trail

Spending time up at the Stanley School.

We were able to be a part of the annual Stanley 4th of July parade.  We found that this parade has grown quite a bit since the last time we spent the holiday here.  Of course, the kids loved that everyone now throws candy.

Happy 4th of July Everyone!!

Best view in town for the fireworks is on Grandpa and Grandma's porch of the Stanley House.
