Soccer

One week left of soccer and I finally got some pictures. Ethan (#5) has been loving it. He hustles up and down the field, cheers his team on, and occasionally gets into the pile up of kids to get his foot on the ball.
He's doing a great job learning the aspects of the sport, but is a little shy about getting into the crowd in order to get the ball. We've been trying to encourage him to be a little more aggressive by challenging him to kick the ball as many times as he can with the intention that the number increases each game. It's pretty cute, if he kicks the ball he'll yell over to side lines "Hey, I kicked the ball" or "Did you see that? I kicked the ball" and then proceeds to give us a thumbs up. One day I asked him why he doesn't get in there more so he can get more kicks. His answer: if he waits on the outside then when the ball gets loose he can get it. . . .good strategy. Either way he's having fun and getting exercise.
Oh, and as a parent I learned that I DO NOT EVER want to be the parent who forgets the treats. The other day the person assigned forgot and it was soooo sad to see those 5 & 6 year-olds standing around waiting for their treat.
