Ogden Marathon

Saturday was the Ogden Marathon. Last year this was my first race to run a full 26.2 miles. This year; I procrastinated and the marathon sold out. The Half sold out before the full; so I entered into the marathon relay with some fellow teachers and was at least able to run 6 miles of it.

Kelly on the other hand, who had no intention of running this race, lucked out and got a last minute number for the Half. Let's just say he ran under an alias. Kelly did awesome finishing in 2hours 5 minutes! Since the beginning of the year Kelly has run several 5k's, a 10k, and two half marathons (one half being Robie)!!

It was a fun weekend. The kids got to spend time with Grandma; thanks again mom! Friday night we met up with a group of friends from Boise and did some "carb" loading and were up the next morning before 4 a.m. to catch the bus to the start lines. The way the relay is organized I think I spent more time on a bus than running and didn't get to see Kelly finish.

Here is half of "The Wood" team. Kacee and I ran the first half and the second half was split between Megan, Dave, and Lisa. Our team ran the marathon in 3 hours 34 minutes; we placed 3rd in our relay division and 12th out of all 160 teams. Considering we had basically no communication the day of the race and had a vague idea of what time to expect each other at the switch off spots we did pretty well.

Here is the rest of "The Wood" team: Lisa, Megan, Dave. Megan is the only one who ended up seeing everyone that day.
