Summer time Wrap Up

Summer didn't officially end until September 21st, but as soon as school starts it seems like the season comes to an abrupt end.  Fortunately the summer weather continued to stay around and we enjoyed 90 degrees for what seemed like an extended time.  Here are some things we've done to finish out the summer.

We spent another afternoon up at Bear Lake.  It was a great day of warm weather, warm water and lots of sunshine.

Dad and the kids built a pyramid.

Here we are driving through Logan Canyon, which is always beautiful.  Ethan and Ellie sat the whole time with their faces in the wind, smiling the WHOLE time.  It's so funny how this simple thing brought them so much joy.

Ellie started dance class at a new dance school.  She loves her ballet & tap shoes and she has even let me pull her hair up into a messy bun (she NEVER likes me fixing her hair into anything more than a small pony to pull the hair out of her eyes).

The local high school dance team was having a fundraiser where they taught girls ages 3-10 a dance over a few days and then all of the girls performed at half time of the high school football game.  Ellie was so excited about the performance night because she they were going to feed them pizza.
I was so worried that she would get out in the field in front of the large crowd and be too shy to perform.  Well Ellie surprised us all and had a ball.  She was front row and not one bit too shy.  In fact she was out dancing, jumping, twirling around before the performance even started.  It was awesome watching how excited she got and to see what a little performer she can be.

Ellie's best little friend from across the street performed too.  They are only 5 months apart . . . . . love our little short-stuff.

Mom ran one of her favorite half marathons.

Watching the Broncos.  Always a big night at our house.
