The last week of school was actually only a day and a half, but was full of many fun events. Elisabeth's last day was on Tuesday (after Memorial Day) and was on the same day as the Woodruff Wildcat Run. Ethan's last day was the following day, but was only until noon. I flew over to be with my mom and missed it all, but I was where I needed to be at the time. Kelly did an amazing job, taking care of the kids, the house, being there for all of the kids' activities and celebrations and keeping up with his job.

Ellie did a great job running. Dad ran with her and got some great video. She was happy to finish and to "not be in last place".

For his last Elementary School race Ethan did fantastic!!
He came in 3rd place and had a great time despite the seriousness on his face.
Later the same day was the end of year Awards Celebration Assembly.
Each year one 5th Grade Boy and one 5th Grade Girl from each class is chosen for the Hope of America Award. Ethan was chosen from his class.
Here is what his teacher sent to Kelly and I in an email about Ethan:
Ethan has been chosen as the fifth grade boy to receive this award. He has been chosen due to his outstanding leadership skills and the positive choices he had made throughout the year. Academically, Ethan has thrived and has continued to make incredible progress even though he is already academically advanced. My favorite part of the day with Ethan was during power hour. I was able to meet in a small group with Ethan to read and discuss novels. Ethan always showed a high level of deeper understanding and was able to respond with thoughts academically higher than his peers who were also highly proficient. Ethan definitely has a sense of responsibility that far outweighs the level of his peers. You are blessed to have him as your son. Ethan is definitely what America hopes to have in its citizens and I anticipate a notice in the future of what he has become, maybe a comedian as he sure is an expert! Thank you dearly for sharing a part of him this year, for your support at home, and your example to me of being outstanding parents. Ms. Ure
Every day this kid makes Kelly and I so proud. We love you more than you know and feel so blessed to have the privilege of being your parents. Congratulations on such a successful 6 years of Elementary School!!
Middle school is next on the list for this outstanding boy!
