Spring Break Days 1 & 2

Monday morning (EARLY) the kids and I hopped on a plane to go visit Aunt Patricia on the coast.  The kids thought it was cool to fly on a smaller plane that what they have ridden on before and also that we had to get on the plane outside.

Love the Oregon Coast.  We headed straight to the beach when we got to Seaside

Walking on the beach

Love a beautiful Sunset!

Beautiful end to an almost perfect day!

Day 2

Morning run sighting
At the mouth of the Columbia where it meets the Pacific

Visiting Ecola State Park by Cannon Beach

Ellie was watching the ocean closely hoping to spot a whale spout.

Indian Beach where people can drive down to the beach was closed due to recent storms in the area.  We found a trail and hiked some of the way down toward the beach.  Some parts got pretty steep so we found the great views and enjoyed muddy hike and the beautiful sights.

Taking in the beauty of the coast and Haystack Rock in the background.

We spent some time in Seaside.  Stocked up on Salt Water Taffy, shopped for souvenirs, and tried on some fun hats.

After picking Aunt Patricia up from work we had to drive across the Astoria Bridge over to Washington.  While there we stopped at the little historic Church and sight to climb around on the old canoe features.

Next we checked out the local Sea Lions and Seals on the docks in Astoria

Trying to catch another beautiful Pacific Coast Sunset at the Peter Irondale Shipwreck sight.
The ship remains and the sunset made for some great photos.

Ellie was fascinated by the little creatures growing on the side of the ship remains.  She would just stand and study them forever while peeling them from the side. I took pictures so that she could study them afterwards as well.

Another beautiful end to another near perfect day.
