At the beginning of October I got to go visit my sis in Oregon and then attend the Coldplay Concert in Portland. It was a quick trip (only there for one full day), but it was so fun.
The first day we headed over to Cannon Beach and then over to Ecola State Park and went down to Indian Beach. During our last two visits we were unable to go down to this particular beach for various reasons.
Ran into these guys driving through town.
October Pacific Sunset
Fun beach find.
We worried it might fall in on them so we did not let them stay and play.
Morning beach run find.
Huge slug, yuck!
Mmmmm, Thai food at a cute little place in Portland
The morning of the concert we work up to various social media updates about the tragedy in Vegas. It took a simple search to Google to find out about the horrible shooting that occurred the night before at the outdoor concert. It made us feel a little reluctant to attend the concert due to fear, but also mixed emotions about going the tragedy and those who lost loved ones. We also wondered if the concert would even take place. The concert ended up starting over and hour and a half late. When the band finally took the stage it didn't start with a bang like the last show I attended began. Instead the band came out and talked a little about the tragedy in Vegas, they were very humble and showed so much gratitude to all the fans who still came to see them despite possibly being scared. They had us all take a moment of silence for the victims. It was very emotional and I thought a great way for them to address what had happened.
Then it was on with the show and they did amazing. They also included a tribute to Tom Petty who passed at the time as well. Love, love, loved this show!!
I always leave purchasing concert tickets to Kelly as he always knows how to get the best. As always he did not let us down, we were able to be so close to one of the stages that the band used.
Look closely, he (Chris) was totally pointing at us.
