Disney's Magic Kingdom

 Day 4

Magic Kingdom

Thursday, April 8th

We had the kids plan and decide the itinerary for the week and they planned to spend our 4th day and extra 5th day at Magic Kingdom.  They felt like that would be their favorite park and it turned out to be the perfect plan.  We started day 4 with another early morning and beautiful sunrise.  We had to take the shuttles for Magic Kingdom so we made our way to the shuttle stop as fast as we could.

The train at Magic Kingdom was under renovations at this time.
We were fortunate to be at the parks when Disney World made the change to mask mandates that guests could have their masks off during pictures.  They actually stopped saying anything the day before at Animal Kingdom because it got out to everyone before the mandate was let up.

Cinderella's Castle

First up, Space Mountain.
Ellie conquering all of the big coasters continued here.
Ellie believes that if she holds her stomach on the rides it won't be as bad.  She doesn't like the stomach drops.  Makes for interesting pictures.

and then Thunder Mountain Railroad.

and of course Splash Mountain
Sadly, this is the last picture of dad and his favorite Boise State hat.  It flew off right after this picture.

The most popular ride at Magic Kingdom was the Seven Dwarfs mine train.  It is a fun, but short roller coaster ride.

Haunted Mansion

Jungle Cruise

Recreating our Flying Dumbo ride picture from Ethan's very first visit to Disneyland.
We are getting too big to both fit in a dumbo.

Ellie wanted to ride  completely solo on the AutoTopia cars ride.
She was able to reach the pedal and made it around the track without rear-ending any other cars.

Peter Pan ride
I don't know why, but for some reason this ride seemed very nostalgic as we waited in line.  Maybe the whole concept of not wanting to ever grow up.  Maybe the realistic feeling that we were in the nursery from the movie.  Maybe hormones.  It made/makes me want to cry for some reason.

For years Ellie would not go on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.  She remembered a "drop" at some point and had it in her head it was scary.  Well she finally overcame this fear and rode it again.  She realized that it was not in fact a big drop and there was no big splash.

Buzz Light Year ride
We think that this ride has not been updated like the one at Disneyland has been.
Highly disappointing.
