After Spring Break we were back to the schedule of spring events.
Track meets for Ethan.
Dance Competitions for Ellie
The first competition was at the fairgrounds down in Salt Lake.
We showed up on time for her first dance to find out that they were 2 hours behind schedule. Due to COVID, only the teams performing who were performing and their supporters were allowed in the building while everyone else had to wait outside. It was about 4 o'clock in the afternoon and it was beginning to get cold. We sat and waited, frustrated, cold and annoyed until we finally were able to go inside. Kelly ran into a guy he knew through work who let us know he had been there since the morning and has 3 daughters competing. This humbled us a little and we felt grateful we didn't have to wait around as much as others. :-) When the girls finally got to perform they did a fabulous job and had lots of fun doing it.

Our other complaint is that there was hardly any seating and we couldn't really get a good view of the performances.
Girls just want to have fun. And get out of their costumes.
The same night as the dance competition Ethan had his date to Sweet Hearts' Dance, which as a girl ask guy dance.
We managed somehow to get home to see him off.
Apparently they had to wait around for some of the people in his group for pictures, so they had some g-q photo sessions.
Ethan and his cute date Jenna.
His talented date Jenna works for a florist and designed both the boutonniere and corsage.
Not long after the sweethearts' dance it was already time to prepare for the next dance. Senior ball was up next. Ethan decided to ask the girl who he was going to go to prom with last spring before COVID hit. They didn't ever get to go to prom so he used this clever way to ask. At this time masks are required at school which includes school dances.
She said yes.
Ellie's next dance competition was the following weekend. This one was at a high school down near SLC and was much more organized and efficient on time. We have really loved watching her develop her talents in this area. She has enjoyed the dancing and competition but has gotten to where she doesn't love it like she use to. She has wanted to stop dance, but we decided she had already committed, her team was counting on her and we felt it important that she follow through and complete the season that she started. This was a great final competition.
April always means unpredictable weather.
So when we get those nice days we try to take advantage.
Traditional early morning birthday run for my sweet friend Katrina.
