Mom - Daughter - Sister - Bonding in Vegas

My mom's favorite place to spend any type of vacation she has is Vegas (I'm not sure I understand this obsession at all).  She had a week vacation planned with my sister Jennifer and it turned out that my little sis Tricia was going as well.  So one day Trish called me and said how cool it would be for all of us to be there with mom, especially if this may be her last time going. So we worked it out that I was able to join them for about a day and a half.

We all arrived at the airport at different times.  Originally it was suppose to be a surprise to mom and I was going to show up at the airport, but after some bad news concerning mom's cancer spreading we ended up letting mom know.  However, it was still a surprise to Jennifer when I tapped her on the shoulder at the airport (which was really fun!!)

Staying at mom's favorite place Circus Circus

We visited Freemont Street and Jennifer decided she wanted to take her first Zip line ride.

This was as close to seeing one of her favorite singers as mom could get.

We made sure to head to Serendipity for a famous Frozen Hot Chocolate.

We ran into Capt. Jack Sparrow on the strip.

I am so glad I went even if it was only for a couple of days.  It meant so much to my mom to have the three of us together and with her.  My mom and sisters stayed for the rest of the week and enjoyed more site seeing.  It's been over a year and a half since my mom's diagnosis and she is still able to travel.  A few weeks before this trip mom found out that the cancer has spread to her brain, which was one of her biggest fears (this is a very common thing for small cell lung cancer to do) and so being able to go to this trip was a big deal to my mom.  She is now just finishing her first week of brain radiation therapy and is about to most likely begin losing her hair again.  I am so sad for what my mom has to endure, just when things start to look up the cancer takes a turn for the worse.  Mom has been so strong and courageous during all of her treatments.  I pray daily for her continued strength and comfort during this trying time.
