Ethan attended is second Winter Scout Camp Out. Kelly tagged along with him. Kelly is grateful that Ethan wants his dad to join him on these kinds of outings.
There was a large group of boys, leaders, and a few dads who went on the trip. They haft to hike in about 1.25 miles to the cabin hauling in all of their stuff. They stay in a cabin, but there is no running water and only a wood burning stove for heat. So, they are roughing it, but not really. It was however very cold the weekend of the camp out.
Leaders, dads, and some of the boys
I'm guessing this is early morning waiting for breakfast (?)
Ethan said he had a blast staying up late playing games
This picture cracks me up because it's exactly how I picture Kelly staying up late playing games at a scout camp out.
Ethan also had a blast sledding with all of the boys.
Do take note of the coat he is wearing. It is one of Kelly's old coats. Here's the story: When they got to the place where the scouts and leaders would park and then haul their belongings to the cabin Kelly and Ethan got out of the pickup. Ethan said to his dad "Hey dad, where's my coat?" The look on Kelly's face I'm sure was probably priceless. First, Ethan must have forgotten his coat, Worse! He said something to Kelly like it was Kelly's responsibility. From what I hear, I'm glad I missed this encounter. Kelly was so mad and Ethan I'm guessing will hopefully never forget his coat in a situation like this. Luckily Kelly had the old coat in his pickup.
I'm so glad that Ethan gets to have these opportunities and I am grateful for his wonderful dad who goes on these outings with him.
