Ogden Marathon 2019

Long story short, last year sucked.
This year I just wanted to renew my relationship with this distance and this course!

It turned out to be a rainy morning.  We had our trusty DI robes to keep us warm.  Katrina and Julie were running the half this year so we got a quick pic and went our separate ways.

I rode up on the bus with a girl from Idaho Falls.  She is the same age as me and had a goal for qualifying for Boston.  It was fun to chat running with her for a bit.
The bus ride up had steady rain, the start line had steady rain and I was grateful for my plastic bags on my shoes and umbrella to keep the elements off.  At one point it was even snowing.  As the start time came close I was waiting in line for the porta potty.   The race started while I was taking care of business, which was fine with me.  My goal was to take it chill and just take what was given on this race day with hopes of a nice, feel decent (for running 26 miles) kind of running day.

Because I started after the gun went off the start line area was clear.

I also wore last year's race shirt hoping to make up for the horrible experience.

Fun to see my friends at the turn off onto the greenbelt off of the canyon road.  I was feeling pretty good at this point.

This year was my 7th time running this race and it turned out to be a great one.  My love for this race was renewed and this continues to be one of my favorite courses.
