Corona Virus Quarantine Life - a primary source

We are currently in the middle of a significant historical world event.  We've heard (or maybe read) about events in history such as the black plague, or the Great Depression.  We've lived through events like September 11th and been a part of the Boston Marathon Bombing.  As we are in the middle of this moment of uncertainty, a little chaos in some cases, and living in a way we haven't ever had to, I find it to be an important time to document what life is like, at least for our family.  Anyone who journals regularly or posts experiences at this time are creating primary sources for future historians.  As I've tapped into a little family history I find it important to document this time.  I've always felt it important to document life as it goes by way too fast and I'm a little annoyed at myself for not starting this a month ago.  As is with most things, I have thought about it over and over I just haven't acted.  So here it goes, life for us over the past month:

Catching a sunrise is always open

Working and schooling from home.
The first two weeks, Ethan had school online Ellie had work packets from school.  I started to learn how to ZOOM in order to continue with meetings.

Notice how much Ellie is enjoying this.

Although it's been difficult to be somewhat isolated from others and something I love about this time is the opportunity for our kids to bond with one another.

Ellie's teacher set up Zoom meetings with her class.  They get together virtually for about an hour a day.

Family Zoom Meeting
We tried to get in touch with family through Zoom.  We were able to see and chat with grandma and grandpa, the Adams, and the Ramseys.

April Fool's Day!!!
Ethan was prepared this year and Kelly got the brunt of most of it.  Balls falling out of cupboards, spiders flying down from the cabinet (was meant for me) and interesting photos of Danny DeVito all over our house.  Kelly didn't notice the pictures and I ruined it when I pointed them out to him.  They gave me a good laugh though.

We decided to prank dad by putting Cooper in his pickup and possibly confusing him into thinking he left him there some how.  I just so happened that dad parked in the front of his building and so that gave us the opportunity to sit in the parking garage and watch what happened when he found Cooper.  We got him pretty good, he said he was wondering what in the world Coop was doing in there.  Eventually he looked over and saw us.  We were proud of this prank.

Mother Nature had a prank of her own.  Which this has happened before on April 1st.

The next morning I noticed this on my run.  I thought it was pretty funny and clever and assumed it was left over from April Fool's day.

During Spring Break is always the time for Baby Animals days at the American West Heritage.  This year it was a drive through experience.  So we loaded ourselves out and took advantage of this little change to our social distancing schedule.

In the past we've never really seen the baby bears because there is always a ridiculous line to see them.  The drive through option gave us this opportunity to at least see the bears.

Too many electronics going on

Enjoying some fresh air and trying to share some positivity through sidewalk chalk.

Going on bike rides, but Elisabeth has determined that her bike is too small so we lowered the seat and she has taken over my bike.  Now we have a hard time going on bike rides together.

Typical Sunday afternoon

Happy 47th Birthday Kelly

Notice the friend who wants to help blow out the candles.

We were able to zoom with everyone on the Krohn side (missing Bailey) and sing happy birthday to Kelly.

Kelly got a cool nostalgic turn table.  He wasn't able to find his first record album of Kenny Rogers, but his Duran Duran Depeche Mode albums came several days later.

Early views of the full moon are still open
