Fall soccer was a highlight of the season. Ethan has really enjoyed playing on his new team and we have enjoyed watching him play.
One of Ethan's favorite courses is at the American West Heritage. This was the Cache - Box Elder Invite. Last year he had one of his best races, this year it was not a repeat. He started strong, but the second time around we could see in his face he was not feeling it and he had moved several spots back from when we saw him the first time around. Afterward he said he had gotten a really bad side ache and just couldn't push through. He was not happy with this race and a silver lining was that later in the season he gets to race this course again for the region meet.
A day or so after the meet I was looking at Cache Daily.com and noticed this picture. LOL
Another soccer game down south (of Salt Lake)
Cross Country meet at Sky View High School.
This year there were only a few invitationals which was sad because those are the really fun races.
Last year (or the year before) this meet was SO COLD. Much different this year weather-wise.
Region meet at Mountain Crest H.S.
First time running this course, from my understanding it's a tough course and has a nice hill that they get to run up twice.
After the hill
heading into the finish
Another meet on the home course of Ridgeline
2nd time around.
After region Ethan ended up being able to attend the state xc meet as an alternate. There was one boy ahead of him who first qualified as an alternate, but he was not eligible to run at state if needed because he had moved from another school within the state. This year the state meet was held in Cedar City so it ended up being an overnight trip which made it even better for Ethan.
While down there they got to enjoy the red rock canyons of the area. I only pictures that I was sent from Ethan and that I got from the xc coach's insta account. :-)
One of many COVID effects. Notice the timing of this cancellation.
This cow enjoys the soccer games and attention.
Ethan's last soccer game was at the end of October. The weather was decent and Grandma and Grandpa were able to come enjoy it. Ethan's team did great in their division and ended up on top.
