We decided it was time to go somewhere so we made our Spring Break a traveling break. We gave the option of Disney World or tropical and the kids chose Disney World. Which at the time was the most COVID friendly option for traveling.
We headed out the night before Easter (which was weird) so we did a little Egg scavenger hunt the morning before. The kids were THRILLED!!!
Well, they were when they got their baskets with gift cards.
We took the red eye flight out of SLC Saturday night. It was the first time we'd been to the new SLC airport since it opened in September. The kids were super impressed with the art work.
We arrived in Orlando early Sunday morning -- before sunrise early.
The magic express was at the airport waiting to pick us up. As soon as we boarded the bus the magic began :-)
We crossed our fingers and hoped that there would be a room available early for us to check into so we weren't bums sleeping on benches around our resort. Luck was on our side and we got to check in early.
We stayed at the Disney Caribbean Beach Resort and our room was in the _________ section.
We enjoyed the beauty of the sunrise around the resort and then headed into our room for some sleep.
After several hours of sleep we headed out to Disney Springs to shop, explore and use our dinner reservation at Chef Art's Homecomin' for some good ol' southern cooking.
Moment to treasure.
Brother & Sister getting along and making plans together.
We explored the shops of Disney Springs.
Hat for the birthday boy?
Ethan had a list of places and foods he wanted to visit and eat. In fact, we had the kids do much of the planning for this trip. Ethan made our itinerary for the week and did a ton of research to help us know how to best spend our time, plan out our rides, what to eat, when to be to each park and reservations to be made. We told the kids to work together to make plans and much of the joy of this trip came from the time leading up to it watching them plan and collaborate for this trip. It made my mama heart so happy.
One of the places and foods on Ethan's list was "everglazed". We stood in line after dinner for some yummy, super sweet donuts and cereal milk.
Later in the evening we went out to enjoy the pool area. It was warm, but not that warm thought it didn't stop the kids from enjoying the water.
