Welcome July and Happy Independence day 2020

July 3rd was a day off for dad so we took a razor ride up Millville canyon.  It was a rough road, but the views and scenery at the top were outstanding!

We have been trying out the timer option for our pictures, getting better

Later that evening was the Cache Valley Cruise-in.
With all of our small town traditional events being canceled this year this was such a nice outing to enjoy a little bit of normalcy for summer.  The number of cars participating and the crowds of people were definitely noticeably less than normal.  We enjoyed our time car and people watching.

Normally Logan has an amazing fireworks show with concert and all at the USU football stadium, but like everything else it was canceled.  Several of the communities decided to join forces and put on 4 displays of fireworks across the valley.  Like the Freedom fire normally is, the displays were done on 4th of July eve.  All four displays were the same and spectators were able to tune in to a local station for music to accompany the display.  Due to our child who fears all fireworks we found a place up on the hill at Coop's Loop and watched them from afar.  From where we were we could see 3 of the 4 valley displays.

Happy 4th of July
It just wasn't the same without the local 4th of July parade, freedom run and other festivities.  It has been such a weird time.  So many feelings and responses to the cancellations, restrictions, changes that continue to happen.  There's uncertainty in the future and when I can be truly present, I can feel the peace and comfort of the simple ways we are learning to live.  As we adjusted to this COVID 4th of July we tried to make the most of and  show and think about our freedoms and patriotism.

We took a family walk up at USU quad where they had cut the grass in the formation of a huge American flag.

As is normal for our neighborhood we could sit in our front or back yard to watch the neighborhood displays of fireworks.  With all of the cancellations there were definitely more fireworks around, which is a lot because there are normally already so many fireworks around this time of year.
