Making sugar cut cookies and frosting them on Christmas Eve.
Finally got a heavy duty mixer so I didn't burn up a hand mixer have to run to Walmart for a new one.
Christmas Morning was pretty lazy.
Kids did not get up for what seemed like forever.
When they finally did it was still slow moving.
We opened stockings.
Had Christmas Crepes that dad made
and then opened gifts.
Random request by Ellie was for a playmobile zoo set.
Grandpa Ruben got this for her which she was stoked about getting.
The rest of the day was pretty lazy.
We took our time cleaning up while the ham cooked in the smoker all day.
We took a trip up to Coop's Loop so Cooper could get out for a minute.
Then I ran home and met up with everyone a while later at the house.
We enjoyed some ham, cheesy potatoes, lots of veggies and many left over treats.
We watched a Christmas Story at some point and then had a sleepover downstairs with the family minus Ethan who retreated to his room.
Simple yet cozy and comfortable
It was kind of a tough month for Christmas as we ended up missing church for 3 weeks because someone in the house was sick. I was the one sick over Christmas weekend and was sad to miss the Christmas Sacrament. We could watch the meeting online, but it just wasn't quite the same.
Each year I feel like we do better at keeping the focus of this holiday on our Savior Jesus Christ. I love the ornaments we received through a secret 12 days of Christmas one year that hang on our tree. They give all the names of Jesus. I like to sit and look at those names, look at the light and the tree and see the picture of my mom and know that the gift received to the world this day allows us to have eternal life and be with those we love forever.
Merry Christmas.
