Thanksgiving 2021 sunrises and sunsets

Not long after returning from Arizona we packed our stuff up again and headed up to Idaho.  This time it was NOT a sunny and warm destination.

We headed up Wednesday evening after Kelly got home from work.
Ethan and I had been signed up for the Turkey Trot from the year before and was able to be signed up this year.  We headed down early to get our race bibs and shirts.
IT. WAS. COLD
but it was a beautiful sunny morning

This has been a fun tradition the last few years.  It's good timing as it's not too long after the end of cross country season for Ethan.  Kelly met us down town on his bike to cheer us on.
They had a few tweaks due to COVID so we were glad we were down there sort of early.

Ethan had a goal to beat his previous time running which he did easily.
He was disappointed he did not line up at the very front.  He said it was difficult to start out because of the crowd and everyone moving slow.  I felt bad because as I was waiting for the start a little behind him I thought to myself, I need to tell Ethan to get to the very front so he doesn't get held back by the crowd.  The problem is next time he runs this he will not have 6 months of cross training under his belt.   Still an amazing time in my book!

I was just about the same as my last time running this race.
Maybe a few seconds slower.

Dinner was a small group of us, our family, grandma & grandpa and Great - grandma & Great Grandpa.

and the dogs.

That evening we went for a nice walk and were treated with a beautiful sunset.

These are horses that grandma and grandpa visit regularly.

and the other horses across the road

The following evening we bundled up and headed over to the Scentsy building to enjoy the light display.

Despite the cold was able to fit in a few morning runs including the greenbelt.
Kelly had brought his E-bike and met me at the end of the run.
